Free Summer Concert Series at Richard Tucker Park
Lincoln Square will heat up this summer with a series of free outdoor concerts at Richard Tucker Park. Grab your lunch and some friends and hit this lively oasis at Broadway and 66th Street every Wednesday in July and August from noon until 2:00pm to enjoy a taste of New York’s “underground” music scene.
This year’s free summer conert series will feature an eclectic mix of some of New York's most talented and creative performers, including:
August 24 - Seven Sisters and Sugar Cane
The MetropoliTones | Afro Andes
The 2011 Summer Concert Series at Richard Tucker Park is presented by the Lincoln Square Business Improvement District in partnership with the MTA Arts for Transit’s Music Under New York Program. Through these live performances at Richard Tucker Park, we celebrate New York City’s diversity of music and cultures and remember the great opera star, tenor Richard Tucker (1913-1975), who worked as a cantor before joining the Metropolitan Opera for a long and distinguished thirty year career.
Support for flowers and shrubs in Richard Tucker Park is provided by the family of Richard Tucker.
