  • DOT's Lincoln Square 65th Street Bow-Tie Changes Are Underway

    August 4, 2015

The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) has begun making changes to the 65th Street Lincoln Square Bow-Tie intersection. Markings for new crosswalks, the Columbus Avenue bike lane extension and pedestrian safety extensions are going in and construction is underway. To accommodate all of the work, the BID recently relocated many of our planters, which we expect to put back once the work is completed. Thank you to Glenwood for permitting us to put our planters on the Grand Tier's sidewalk.

As part of the Bow-Tie improvements, DOT's plan calls for new parking and loading regulations and bus stop relocations along Columbus Avenue that will be put into effect. Some regulations have already been put into effect. The new regulations are listed below: READ

  • DOT's Lincoln Square 65th Street Bow-Tie Safety Improvements

    July 24, 2015

The Lincoln Square BID has long advocated for improved safety in the complex 65th Street Bow-Tie intersection and looks forward to working closely with the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) as it begins to implement these changes next week. We are pleased that DOT has agreed to match existing conditions as it extends our two small parks and malls, and has also promised to address the serious ponding conditions at crossings, and to expand pedestrian openings in the malls. We will be out there monitoring this project on a daily basis.

The following is an excerpt from DOT's flyer on the Lincoln Square 65th Street Bow-Tie safety improvements: READ
